02-05: Resolve to live in the solution!

Resolve to live in the solution!

Quote
Beyond a certain point there is no return.  This point has to be reached. ~Frank Kafka~

Inspiration
Something happens when we make a firm commitment to a course of action,  allowing for absolutely no other alternatives, and resolve to see it through come what may.  Providence begins to move on our behalf, things seem to just naturally fall into place, and that which may have previously appeared improbable, suddenly becomes possible.  When there is hesitancy and doubt, or thoughts of other possibilities, there is always a tendency to draw back, second guess ourselves or become convinced that it will not work, and turn back.  Determine to go boldly forward…refuse to accept any other alternative…and see what unfolds before you when you do!

Thought for the day
Am I working on the solution (recovery) or am I preoccupied with the disease (not drinking / drugging / gambling / acting out)?  Although our thoughts and feelings are not our actions (it is actions that define us) they do affect our behavior.
The more you give mind space to the disease, by obsessing about resisting lust of all types, the less you are giving to God (recovery).  Resolve today that you’ve reached the point of no return.  Resolve today to give your life to God in action, not words, by living in the solution and acting in the manner which typifies a godly person, thinking of Him, and how to please Him and loving your fellow brothers and sisters.

Scriptures
If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.  Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.  For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides]. ~James 1:5-8 (Amp)~

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I am told that if I continue to think about not acting out it is almost the same as thinking about acting out.  Yet this is all I have ever known in my thought life.  Help me to train my mind and develop helpful mindful habits of godliness.  Help me to start meditating, praying and thinking about growing in the spirit, about seeking spiritual direction, about reading spiritual meditations, about a place to worship, about doing service work (in and out of 12 step rooms), about developing an attitude of gratitude and most of all, learning how to discern, accept and live out your will for me. I pray this in the name of Jesus.  Amen

About SLAA Tilburg
