It’s In Your Hands!
We are not in a position in which we have nothing to work with. We already have capacities, talents, direction, missions, callings. ~Abraham Maslow~
Don’t measure your ability to accomplish a goal by what you have in your hand. Many incredibly successful endeavors were begun with little or no apparent initial means to get the job done. Start with what you have; with confidence in your plan…you’ll be amazed at how things fall into place to take care of your needs as they arise. How do we get to be an old timer with 10, 20, or 30 years of sobriety and recovery? One day at a time…that’s how! All we need to be concerned with is not…with not doing the wrong thing but rather…with doing the right thing.
Thought for the day
When we focus our energies on doing God’s will for us, we will be amazed at how quickly those days, months and years add up. Work on the solution always! That is simply the difference between those who struggle battling their demons and those who struggle with becoming godly men. The ones who have difficulty being sober struggle with issues outside of themselves, unable to cope with temptation, insecurities, dependence on others, life’s unmanageability. The ones who make the program and stay in recovery encounter spiritual obstacles, temptations and life’s unmanageability as well. However they have an ally that they turn to daily in their quest to grow in the image and likeness of their creator. “That one is God…may you find Him now!”
And he said to him, Well done, excellent bond servant! Because you have been faithful and trustworthy in a very little [thing], you shall have authority over ten cities. ~Luke 19:17 (Amp)~
“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children. ~Matthew 14:17,19-21 (NIV)~
They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat [the fruit]. For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, and My chosen and elect shall long make use of and enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain or bring forth [children] for sudden terror or calamity; for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. And it shall be that before they call I will answer; and while they are yet speaking I will hear. ~Isaiah 65:22-24 (Amp)~
