A Point of Know Return…
Beyond a certain point there is no return. This point has to be reached. Frank Kafka
Something happens when we make a firm commitment to a course of action allowing for absolutely no other alternatives, and resolve to see it through come what may. Providence begins to move on our behalf, things just seem to naturally fall into place, and that which may have previously appeared improbable, suddenly becomes possible. When there is hesitancy and doubt, or thoughts of other possibilities, there is always a tendency to draw back, second-guess ourselves. Sometimes we become convinced that it will not work, and turn back. Determine to boldly go forward…refuse to accept any other alternative…and see what unfolds before you when you do!
Thought for the day
When it comes to faith… If you can’t believe you will not be able to fake it till you make it! Unlike our disposition or our attitude our faith can’ be faked! It is after all hope and faith that drives us to believe in and take a solid third step. As it says in the 12 and 12 “the success of the entire program (the 12 Steps) rests on how well we have come to “make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God” So what do we need to do? Borrow the faith, pray for the faith, beg for the faith, steal the faith, exercise the little we might have, develop your faith. We all must do all that we can for indeed we have come to the Point of Know Return!
It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life. But [still] some of you fail to believe and trust and have faith. For Jesus knew from the first who did not believe and had no faith and who would betray Him and be false to Him… After this, many of His disciples drew back (returned to their old associations) and no longer accompanied Him. Jesus said to the Twelve, Will you also go away? [And do you too desire to leave Me?] Simon Peter answered, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words (the message) of eternal life. And we have learned to believe and trust, and [more] we have come to know [surely] that You are the Holy One of God, the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of the living God. ~John 6:63,64,66-69 (Amp)~
If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides]. ~James 1:5-8 (Amp)~
