Keeping the Vision In Sight…
Sight comes from the natural eye; vision comes from the heart. Sight without vision can be fatal. ~Joni Ames~
Without a vision, birthed in the heart, an individual is destined to simply wander aimlessly through life…remaining ever a victim of circumstance. If you’ve lost your vision, reclaim it now! If you have never had one…get one! It’s never too late. Stir up the gifts that have been given you. Act on faith, taking your eyes off circumstances that may have held you back until now…allow the vision to grow, take form, and then ACT upon it, and see it made manifest in your life. Be a victor, not a victim!!!
If you are an addict of any type, regardless of your choice of drug, you will be tempted to allow circumstances to dictate your goals or vision. Wrong!!!!!!
Because this is a spiritual program with a spiritual solution, to grow in the image and likeness of God, (step 6 of the 12 & 12) we must not allow events, dramas, traumas or situations to affect our mindset or our spiritual condition. When we do this we lose perspective and purpose for our lives. We must seek Him no matter what.
Thought for the day
If today I am tempted to work on the problem (acting out or not acting out) then I am just feeding the fire that consumes my spirit. Purpose to stay in the solution, making growing spiritually through prayer and action our principal vision, not work, not our children, nor our wives nor the house we are about to buy nor the project I have been assigned to oversee. I’m not saying that these things may not require a number one priority from time to time but our long term goal and vision must be our relationship with God. After all “what good is gaining the world if we lose our soul in the process”? How solid is my recovery today. Am I seeing well?
Where there is no vision, the people perish… ~Proverbs 29:18~
Daniel said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding. It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things…” ~Daniel 2:19-22 (NASB)~
Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come… ~Habakkuk 2:2,3 (NKJV)~
Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: ~Acts 18:9~
Father God, how easy it is to get distracted. My life has been one distraction after another. I know you are everywhere and all powerful. I have seen your miracles…in me and others. Help me today to seer your name in my heart; that the hunger for a close relationship with you and a desire to spend eternity with you may become the vision and my purpose in life. You can help me and you will help me because you know what I ask for and work for is in keeping for your vision of all your children, for us to love you with all our power. And I ask this, in the name above all names, the mighty one, your son Jesus Christ, your lamb that takes away the sin of the world. Amen.
