Keep it Simple…
When the solution is simple, God is answering. ~Albert Einstein~
Often, we tend to overcomplicate that which is really very simple. When you feel overwhelmed by the complexity of a task or situation, maybe it’s time to take a step back…break it down, and focus on the simpler and more manageable components. Great accomplishment generally comes from consistently doing the simple things well…taking things one step at a time, and one day at a time.
Thought for the day
There’s a great, beautiful, classic rock ballad by Lynnird Skinnird entitled “A Simple Kind of Man”. In it a mother warns her son about the difficulties he will face in life, lust, greed, pride of self etc. and her sound advice to her most prized possession is to live a simple life dedicated to being a simple kind of man. She reminds him to remember that “there is someone up above”. And so it is with us, the secret to our success in life is to be a simple kind of man, living life simply and fully always in the now and always remembering that there is someone up above!
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.} Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne. ~Jesus / Matthew 11:28-30 (Amp)~
…the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. ~James 3:17~
Oh Mighty One, I come to you today, now in need of simplicity. For so long I have sabotaged my life by making it far more complicated and difficult than it needs to be that I find it hard to learn and act in accordance to new life concepts, especially those that require me to live in stillness. Help me to slow down, to re-assess truthfully, with the help of my sponsor, just what I need to do to serve you and my brothers and sisters. Teach me to breathe slowly, to act wisely and purposely and trudge the road to happy destiny. If this is your will, I ask for this in your holy name. Amen.
