The Power Within…
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to
what lies within us. ~Author Unknown~
It is through the heartfelt recognition of the power that has been placed within us, that we develop the ability to overcome the shackles of past experiences that bind us. It is only through the awareness and acceptance of our lack of power (1st Step) that we receive the hope and faith (2nd Step) that the real Power within us will help us deal with the character defects (deformities) which keep us bound to addictive/obsessive behavior. It is this same Power (GOD) that provides us with the steadfast hope that dispels all fear of the future. When we learn to place our physical, intellectual and emotional inclinations under subjection to the Spirit within (3rd Step), then do we begin to see our lives changed and transformed, from the inside out.
Thought for the day
If we need to change (and we do) in order to recover and we need to recover (and we do) in order to change…have you begun the process? If not, what in the world are you waiting for?
For ages and ages this message was kept secret from everyone, but now it has been explained to God’s people. God did this because he wanted you Gentiles to understand his wonderful and glorious mystery. And the mystery is that Christ lives in you, and he is your hope of sharing in God’s glory.
~Colossians 1:26,27 (CEV)~
You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God… ~1 Corinthians 6:19 (CEV)~
But this precious treasure–this light and power that now shine within us–is held in perishable containers, that is, in our weak bodies. So everyone can see that our glorious power is from God and is not our own. ~2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)~
But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence)…
