01-03: Something Unseemly…

Something Unseemly…

Quote
How little do they see what is, who frame their judgements upon that which seems. ~Robert Southey~

Meditation
In order to breakthrough to new levels, we must learn to see things as they can and will be, and not necessarily as they might appear to the natural eye…seeing beyond the surface, to the potential that lies within.  When we begin to look upon and treat people and circumstances as they might be, supernaturally, they will rise to the level of our expectation.  What are you expecting?

Thought for the day
As I work on my steps am I experiencing them (absorbing the spiritual principles contained in each step) or am I just doing them.  This is one place where that famous phrase, “Just do it” will not do.  We must instead, “Just feel it”, so we can experience the transformation, the metanoia, which must take place within us, if we are truly going to get into the recovery phase of our program and change ourselves.  Am I working and feeling my steps?

Scriptures
For in [this] hope we were saved.  But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope.  For how can one hope for what he already sees?  But if we hope for what is still unseen by us, we wait for it with patience and composure.  So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness…We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.  ~Romans 8:24-26,28 (Amp)~

Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].  By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.
~Hebrews 11:1,3 (Amp)~

About SLAA Tilburg
