19-02: Move on…

Move on…

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we do fail.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

Obstacles only become frightening when you have taken your eyes off of the goal.  As Wayne Gretzky once put it, “one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take, don’t go in.”  Stay focused on the prize, knowing that any failures you experience along the way, are merely temporary setbacks…learn from them…make the proper adjustments, and press on!

Thought for the day
No matter how circumstances may appear, or what failures may arise, there are really only two choices…you can either give up and quit, or simply decide to keep stepping up to the plate and taking your swings.  If you are resolute and determined, eventually you WILL meet with a measure of success.  When considering the alternative, is there really any other choice to be made?  Keeping your sights firmly fixed on the ultimate goal, and upon the One from Whom your strength truly comes, will provide the encouragement and perseverance needed to see you through the pitfalls!

How do I react to the errors I commit?  Do I cower, beat myself up and hide or do I examine the event, speak to other godly people, speak to God and try to figure out the lesson of life I have just received?

for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again… ~Proverbs 24:16~

Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you – rise to a new life]!  Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!  For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen on you.  And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.  ~Isaiah 60:1-5 (Amp)~

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us–they help us learn to endure.  And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.  And this expectation will not disappoint us.  For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.  ~Romans 5:3-5 (NLT)~

About SLAA Tilburg
