Victory through Defeat…
History has demonstrated that the most notable winners encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They finally won by their defeats. ~B. C. Forbes~
Surrender to win, suffer to get well are familiar recurring themes that are part of our life in recovery. Why? Because it is very hard to live life without succumbing to our overwhelming need to take charge. Typically what happens when we refuse to stay in the now and give all things to God is we wind up making mistakes and suffering the results. It is the wreckage of the past experienced over again. That is ok! For anyone that is willing to step out into the unknown and dare to do all that they are capable of, some defeats and setbacks along the way are inevitable. It is the process by which we learn, and gather the strength to overcome the obstacles which stand in our way. This is not to say everyone will slip and that’s ok. It simply means we will continue to err…..If we are humble pliable and willing to learn from our mistakes the ultimate prize is well worth any temporary trials and failures. The obstacles will be quickly forgotten, when the vision is attained.
Thought of the day
“Not all days will be happy ones but they can all be fulfilling if we stay focused on the prize, which is God”
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 8:37-39~
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~Philippians 4:13~
