Shine On II
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~Marianne Williamson~
We are constantly challenged to be the light that shines in a dark and weary world. Purpose today to be that light, in spite of whatever circumstances may arise, and watch the amazing power therein, to change any person and any circumstance as a result…including your own!
Thought for the day
Whether we wish to admit it or not most of us are preoccupied with people, places and things outside of ourselves to the point where we allow our thoughts and feelings to interfere with our spiritual well being and our mandate from God, to love Him and our neighbors as ourselves. Part of that mandate is to speak out boldly for the Truth (there is only one, if you are a surrendered child of God), to be a light for those in darkness. But then we allow political correctness to influence us. It looks something like this; well I better not say that because they might get upset or I don’t want them to think badly of me or it’s not right to be known as a religious zealot or yet still, I do not want to get in trouble. And so the simple question is who would you rather upset, a few misguided souls on earth who you may not even know or your Heavenly Father for eternity?
You are like light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden, and no one would light a lamp and put it under a clay pot. A lamp is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to everyone in the house. Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven. ~Matthew 5:14-16 (CEV)~
Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. “For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising…” ~Isaiah 60:1-3 (NASB)~
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world… ~Philippians 2:14-15~
