Happiness is not a warm gun, it’s a warm gut!
In our daily lives, we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but the gratefulness that makes us happy. ~Albert Clarke~
Don’t spend your life seeking happiness, or things that you perceive by possessing will one day bring you happiness. True joy and peace come not from what you have, but what you are. Choose this day to be thankful for all that you already have, and the incredible gift that is within you. Then, you will find that happiness truly is the byproduct of a grateful heart.
Thought for the day
Spend your life in the pursuit of spiritual growth and you will find in the process that all those things that drive you nuts will lose their power over you and you won’t have to do battle with everything and everyone around you.
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. ~Acts 16:23-26~
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory… ~1 Peter 1:6-8 (NKJV)~
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; ~1 Peter 2:9~
