In our daily lives, we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but the gratefulness that makes us happy. ~Albert Clarke~
Don’t spend your life seeking happiness, or things that you perceive will one day bring you happiness. True joy and peace come not from what you have, but what you are. Resolve today not to worry about fighting the disease, white knuckling your attraction to the darkness you have hidden yourself in the majority of your life. Instead, realize that there is no peace in making each and every day an “acting out” test of “Will I or Won’t I”. Instead work on the right side of the ledger and resolve not to act out ever again with God’s help and then act on that resolve by focusing, on today being the godliest man you know. That is truly the Way, the Truth and the Life!
Thought for the day
Choose this day to be thankful for all that you already have, and you will find that happiness truly is, the byproduct of a grateful heart. Stay in the Now and today will be tomorrow soon and you will have lived another day without battling the disease. Can I do this today!
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory…
