The Treatment For All Ails…
Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness, and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again. ~Og Mandino~
When we truly purpose in our heart to be a light to everyone we meet, without thought as to what is in it for us regardless of how they look, what they wear, or how they may treat us in return, then we begin to recognize that “it is better to give than to receive”. This attitude and your corresponding actions will transform the lives of those around you and your own life as well.
Thought for the day
When I am feeling depressed, victimized by life, listless, irritable, unhappy or discontent do I sit around on my throne of self pity or have I learned to pray, get up off my butt and go serve someone less fortunate. To those I meet am I a bright and shining star of hope or a flickering spark of survival?
By everything I did, I showed how you should work to help everyone who is weak. Remember that our Lord Jesus said, “More blessings come from giving than from receiving.” ~Acts 20:35 (CEV)~
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed. ~1 Timothy 6:18-19 (NASB)~
Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God–that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection]. For let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good–whether apparent or not] keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile (treachery, deceit).
~1 Peter 3:8-10 (Amp)~
