When a defining moment comes along, you can do one of two things. Define the moment, or let the moment define you. ~The Movie “Tin Cup”~
It’s easy to exhibit admirable qualities and traits during times of relative comfort and ease. But only during times of either great triumph and victory, or great adversity and distress, are the true character and intents of the heart revealed. Let’s pay close attention to these “defining moments” and watch for our responses to them. They provide a measure of where our faith lies, not only to ourselves, but others as well. Will you be defined by these circumstances, or seize them as the opportunity to in humility, show the reason for your unwavering faith?
Thought for the day
Every single time something of importance happens to us it is an opportunity to demonstrate our faith or lack of. What’s happening in your life?
Then his wife said to him, Do you still hold fast your blameless uprightness? Renounce God and die! But he said to her, You speak as one of the impious and foolish women would speak. What? Shall we accept [only] good at the hand of God and shall we not accept [also] misfortune and what is of a bad nature? In [spite of] all this, Job did not sin with his lips.
~Job 2:9,10 (Amp)~
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellence of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body…We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
