Never Say it is Impossible…
Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done. One could write a history of science in reverse by assembling the solemn pronouncements of highest authority about what could not be done and could never happen.
Theories are simply assumptions that are made given the “facts” currently available. They do not necessarily have any basis in real truth. Only by thinking outside of the box are new revelations of what is possible borne. Don’t limit your thinking to such as things may appear, but allow yourself to envision that which may be!
Thought for the day
As practicing addicts we all had visions. Unfortunately those were visions full of perversion, immorality and ungodliness. In the Phantom of The Opera, the Phantom (Michael Crawford) invites Christine (Sara Brightman) to experience the mystery, the seduction, the beauty of the “power of the night”. I am sure we have all at one time experienced first hand the power of those visions as presented by The Evil One. The problem with them is that even when realized they are fleeting, temporal (not lasting), based on lies and ultimately unfulfilling. Oh and how fast the morning comes!
The key to Recovery is getting God involved in your life ASAP. As we enter Recovery and begin to experience the true strength and power of the Light, can we really understand, comprehend and believe the unsurpassed magnificence of it? Do we know its limitless reach, its ability to impact all areas of our lives? Can we resolve to learn all about God’s light so that we can use its purity to sanctify us and our actions all the days of our lives? Do not settle for sobriety when you can have the power of the Light in Recovery. Talk to your sponsor and ask him how you can receive this awesome power. If he can’t answer that you may wish to speak to a spiritual director or get a different sponsor. After all this is a spiritual program and sooner or later you are going to need effective spiritual direction! Bill W, the co-founder of AA sought it and found it in and out of the rooms of AA. Perhaps you will too.
For from of old no one has heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who works and shows Himself active on behalf of him who [earnestly] waits for Him. ~Isaiah 64:4 (Amp)~
Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.” For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.~1 Corinthians 2:6-10 (NASB)~
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. ~Mark 10:27~
“Everything that I have kept is lost forever and everything that I have given away is mine for eternity”
