The high destiny of the individual is to serve rather than to rule.
Only through service to others can we truly find our destiny. The measure of a man’s success is not in how many people serve him, but in how many people he serves. Help enough other people to find success, peace and joy, and your own is assured.
Thought for the day
What can one person do? If you have ever studied the lives of spiritual/godly men and women, you know that one person can accomplish plenty. In the life of each saint one thing stands clear: God and one are a majority! What one person, following God’s will and plan for his or her life, can do is more than our mind could ever hope for or imagine. Each of us has a mission to fulfill in God’s plan for the world. Each one of us is unique and has been given sufficient talent to use in the service of our brothers and sisters and in the building up of God’s kingdom. Soooo, what do you think you can accomplish, and are you prepared to pay the price? Are you prepared to sacrifice? Are you prepared to lose your life that you may gain it through devotion to God and service to mankind?
And Jesus called them to Him and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men hold them in subjection [tyrannizing over them]. Not so shall it be among you; but whosoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, And whosoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave– Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free]. ~Matthew 20:25-28 (Amp)~
Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
