Today’s thought from Hazelden is:
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Another part of the answer to how people can live without turmoil and be happy lies in being bound to other members of the group with new ties. They will escape disaster together. New group feeling helps provide them all with a way to identify with each other’s common affliction. Each will know what it means to give personally that others may survive and rediscover life. Each will become happy, respected, and useful once more. Have these things happened to me?
MEDITATION FOR THE DAY
Some of the temptations, the trials we face, have changed very little throughout the history of humankind. The grace of God is that power which enables us to become useful, normal persons. The grace of God is also manifest in our love for others, compassion for their problems, and a real willingness to help them. The grace of God also manifests itself as peace of mind and serenity. We can have abundant power, love, and serenity in our lives if we ask God for them each day.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
I pray that I may see God’s grace in the strength, love, and serenity in my life. I pray that I may be grateful for the things I have received through the grace of God.
