05-10: Catch the Vision…

Catch the Vision…

Is there anything worse than blindness?  Oh, yes! A person with sight and no vision.   ~Helen Keller~

A critical aspect to living a life filled with joy and fruitfulness lies in maintaining a vision of things to come.  When vision dies, life can easily become filled with a sense of hopeless drudgery.  If you feel as though your dream has died, do whatever is necessary to set it ablaze in your consciousness once more.  It is never too late!

Thought for the day
What is my personal (not what I heard at church) vision for my life?  Do I mostly think about the after life with God receiving me into his kingdom with those beautiful words; “This is my son/daughter with whom I am well pleased”.  That is a beautiful vision, but what about the vision of the here and now?  Can you develop a short term goal to accompany the living vision of who we’d like to become here on earth?  Can you say, “If I work my steps to the best of my ability I can get on the path to become a godly person”, and mean it?
It is critical to our personal spiritual development that we feed the fire of our innermost ideals lest we become an “at leaster”, saying well at least I didn’t hurt anyone today or at least I didn’t act out today.  What’s up with that?  Let’s help one another to “go for the gusto”, to catch the vision of holiness, of spiritual development to the max.  After all what is the sense of entering the race if we can’t picture ourselves finishing it.

Where there is no vision, the people perish… ~Proverbs 29:18~

Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven; Daniel said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. “It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him. To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, For You have given me wisdom and power; Even now You have made known to me what we requested of You…” ~Daniel 2:19-23 (NASB)~

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. ~Acts 2:17-19 (NKJV)~

…but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.  ~2 Corinthians 12:1~

About SLAA Tilburg
