Believing is Seeing II…
Live your beliefs and you can turn the world around.
~Henry David Thoreau~
It’s easy to profess belief in something especially when there’s nothing at stake.
The acid test of our faith comes when we are challenged by those who do not believe, or when we are confronted with obstacles that would tempt us to do something contrary to our beliefs. Standing firm at such times, refusing to waver or compromise can return astounding rewards. Circumstances begin to supernaturally change and come into line with our expectation, our own confidence is increased, and those who witness the results will be motivated to believe.
Thought for the day
Sometimes our personal faith has to grow through the faith of others by seeing and believing. Especially for the benefit of newcomers it is very important that we do not waiver in our actions. They will be watching us closely so our actions
must match our words and then in turn, their faith will be strengthened. If you speak of recovery…let your behavior be an example of your faith and commitment to godly living.
Be on guard. Stand true to what you believe. Be courageous. Be strong.
~1 Corinthians 16:13 (NLT)~
Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead–since he was about a hundred years old–and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. ~Romans 4:18-21 (NIV)~
You know that you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won’t correct you for asking. But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm. ~James 1:3-6 (CEV)~
