Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same. ~Francesca Reigler
Success is peace of mind in knowing you did your best. ~John Wooden~
Everything does not always work out as we expect. But we can always maintain a sense of peace throughout when we know that we have done all that we can do. When the storms of life come, and you have done all that you know to do, then simply make your stand on the conviction that "this too shall pass". Maintaining confident faith and inner peace, knowing that all things ultimately work for good, is the true measure of success.
Thought for the day
Sometimes the storms of life are of our own making. Even then we can experience some sense of peace and well being if we have learned from our mistakes or we have tried to correct our actions and experienced remorse and repentance.
If those storms are created as the result of speaking out against injustice, spiritual indifference and evil, then rest assured that your Father who knows all is aware of your goodness and approves of your courageous stand.
Jesus reminded us (yes, we too are disciples if we believe) that just as he suffered, we too would suffer if we decided to follow Him. We cannot serve two masters, so if you are persecuted or suffer because of your spiritual beliefs in the secular world, then you are really a success. Whether at a 12 step meeting or in a corporate setting, do not allow yourself to be censured and your heavenly father will await you with open arms and that most precious blessing; you are also my beloved son with whom I am well pleased. That is real success!
For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God, And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty… ~Ephesians 6:12-18 (Amp)~
