Once individuals link together they become something different… Relationships change us, reveal us, evoke more from us. Only when we join with others do our gifts become visible, even to ourselves. ~Margaret Wheatley and Myron Kellner-Rogers.
There is nothing that promotes growth, change and transformation (both individually and corporately), than when people are truly united in a just cause. There is a power and synergy that comes from standing with one another in faith and agreement, like no other on earth. Now is the time to make that stand…placing trivial differences aside…and truly recognizing that we are all one, and that what happens to the least of us, effects all of us. May we all strive to achieve the fulfillment of a creed penned many, many years ago…"In Essentials, Unity; In Non-essentials, Liberty; In All Things, Love".
Thought for the day
We can either be an agent of unity and love or discord. 12 Step meetings are not a place for getting one’s self esteem met. We must develop an attitude of friendship and togetherness while not watering down the truth about addiction. Be firm and truthful but not unkind. Speak about recovery only not about things unrelated to our spiritual development. If we all do that we will be brothers on the same path, supporting one another, caring for one another and delivering constructive correction when needed. Remember the Responsibility Pledge;
“I am responsible anytime and anywhere an addict reaches out for help. I want the hand of (A.A, S.A.A, N.A, G.A. etc.) always to be there. And for that I am responsible.”
Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight…For I will be leaning toward you with favor and regard for you, rendering you fruitful, multiplying you, and establishing and ratifying My covenant with you. ~Leviticus 26:8-9 (Amp)~
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. ~Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NLT)~
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ~Acts 2:1-4 (NKJV)~
