27-08: 100% Success

100% Success

Quote
Never let the odds keep you from pursuing what you know in your heart you were
meant to do. ~Satchel Paige~

Meditation
I’ve heard it said in meeting rooms that
the recovery rate for folks in the program is anywhere (depending on the fellowship)
from 10% to 60%.  Nothing could be
further from the truth and if you listen to those naysayers you will only add
more self doubt to your destiny.  The
success rate of addicts, of all types, who recover from their addiction, is
100%
if they will follow this simple (12 step)
program and commit to a life of holiness
. The moment that you begin to follow a bold vision
for something, it will likely appear that everything is opposed to your ability
to accomplish it.  People will begin to tell you all the reasons why it
will not work, and attempt to instill doubt.  You will begin to conjure up
in your own mind, just how impossible the task may be.  You must actively
shut out the voices of the naysayers, and cast down the imaginations that would
try and convince you that the vision is unattainable.

Thought for the
day

Remain focused on the promised
result…sobriety and then recovery.  If you are willing to pursue it with
patience, in prayer and meditation, the rewards will very likely be even
greater than you first anticipated. Soon enough you will be picking up a
medallion for a 1 year anniversary.

Scriptures
Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn’t we
drive it out?"  He replied, "Because you have so little
faith.  I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard
seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will
move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.  ~Matthew 17:18-21 (NIV)~

Trust in the LORD and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.  Delight yourself in the
LORD;  And He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your
way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
~Psalm 37:3-5 (NASB)~

Jesus looked at them and said,
"With man this is impossible, but not with God;  all things are
possible with God."
~Mark 10:27 (NIV)~

Prayer
Heavenly Father, as I start out my day I first want to
acknowledge your greatness and my littleness.  Help me to know throughout the day that you are the King of
the Universe. You offer me all day long
the ability to rest in you and tap into your immense Power.  Help me cope with the little stuff I
face which because of my littleness seems insurmountable and overwhelming to
me.  Help me to stay in the now
today and to reach out to my brothers when in need, that I might not think that
everything I face I need to tackle alone!   Most of all remind me, when I forget, that you are
Abba, Father waiting for me to come to you at anytime of the day or night.  In your glorious name I pray.  Amen.

About SLAA Tilburg
