23-08: Innocence is Bliss…

Innocence is Bliss…

Quote
I am looking for a lot of men who have an infinite capacity to not know what
can’t be done. ~Henry Ford~

Meditation

Life’s journey truly is one that
ultimately leads us back to where we began…learning to recapture that childlike
faith and trust.  Try it, if even for a moment, and feel the exhilaration
that comes from a heartfelt belief that all things truly are possible…if only
we believe.  When those old tapes about our past hurts disappointments and
difficulties are discarded for good, nothing can stand in the way of our new
outlook on life, one that is truly full of hope and confidence.

Thought for the
day

We must not lose, or we must
recapture that clear, happy and hopeful outlook on life that says; I may not
have everything I want, but I am getting everything I need…and the rest, well
there’s still time…and perhaps I just don’t need it at all.”

Scriptures

How kind the LORD is!  How
good he is!  So merciful, this God of ours!  The LORD protects those
of childlike faith… ~Psalm 116:5-6 (NLT)~

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God:
for with God all things are possible. ~Mark 10:27~

And there came a man named Jairus, and he was an official of the synagogue; and
he fell at Jesus’ feet, and began to implore Him to come to his house; for he
had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying…While He was
still speaking, someone came from the house of the synagogue official, saying,
"Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore."
But when Jesus heard this, He answered him, " Do not be afraid any longer;
only believe, and she will be made well."…Now they were all weeping and
lamenting for her; but He said, "Stop weeping, for she has not died, but
is asleep."  And they began laughing at Him, knowing that she had
died.  He, however, took her by the hand and called, saying, "Child,
arise!" And her spirit returned, and she got up immediately… ~Luke
8:41,42,49,50,52-55 (NASB)~

Prayer

Father God, there are some things
about my life that I do not like, there are some things that I despise but
there is plenty about my life that is good and right.  As I meditate on the Passion of your son Jesus, his
suffering, death and resurrection, help me to put my life’s discontent in
perspective
.

I have so much to be grateful for
and so many things yet to accomplish which are in line with your perfect will
for me.  Help me to re-discover
that childlike faith I used to have at one time.  Help me to know that all things are possible if we are able
to simply believe.  God, Abba,
Father, help me with my unbelief.
This I pray in the name above all names, your son Jesus.  Amen

About SLAA Tilburg
