No matter what a person’s past may have been, his future is spotless.
Don’t allow previous disappointments or negative experiences to dictate who you believe you are, or what you might accomplish. You are not what you have done. Your worth as a human being is not judged by God according to your past actions. If we were, none would have hope. Leave the past behind and let it go, once and for all. Your future is a blank canvas, limited only by your desire to turn towards God and a new life and away from Satan, his empty promises and lies. Develop a life vision, an ideal that you can use to drive your spirit and will towards that perfect will of God for you. Pray for the willingness to hold on to that vision until it is done.
Thought for the day
Let go of your false ideals and your shame. Give them all to God. In his mercy he offers you a cleansing and forgiving drink from his cup of grace. Drink from it, and let today be the first day of the rest of your life…make the best of it. And don’t look back!
When morning came, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, Arise, take your wife and two daughters who are here [and be off], lest you [too] be consumed and swept away in the iniquity and punishment of the city. And when they had brought them forth, they said, Escape for you life! Do not look behind you or stop anywhere in the whole valley; escape to the mountains [of Moab], lest you be consumed. But [Lot’s] wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. ~Genesis 19:15,17,26 (Amp.)~
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. ~Lamentations 3:22,23 (NLT)~
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. ~2 Corinthians 5:17~
…forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 3:14~
