I’ll tell you a big secret, my friend: Don’t wait for the last judgment. It happens every day. ~Albert Camus~
So many people say, after they have accomplished this, or after they have changed that, they will seek to follow that which they know in their heart to be the right course. Come as you are, right now, today! You don’t have to worry or be concerned about cleaning yourself up first. It is in the seeking that you will find the strength to accomplish those things.
Thought for the day
How many times have you heard or said; As soon as I move, finish this project, have this child, get this job or this or that happens, I’ll be able to go to more meetings, start my 4th step, volunteer for service work or whatever else you are needing an excuse not to do. Be real, get honest and stop lying to yourself and others. The only thing stopping you from doing the right thing is you!
Laboring together [as God’s fellow workers] with Him then, we beg of you not to receive the grace of God in vain [that merciful kindness by which God exerts His holy influence on souls and turns them to Christ, keeping and strengthening them–do not receive it to no purpose]. For He says, In the time of favor (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance (the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold, now is the day of salvation! ~2 Corinthians 6:1,2 (Amp)~
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God…But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation… ~2 Peter 3:10-15 (NASB)~
so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.
For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. ~1 Thessalonians 5:6-9 (NASB)~
Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people. For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised… ~Psalm 96:2-4~
