The mind is no match with the heart in persuasion; constitutionality is no match with compassion. ~Everett M. Dirksen~
Compassion is the catalyst which enables a marvelous chain reaction to take place. Lasting change and growth can only occur when they come from the heart. Head knowledge alone is not enough. What you know must become heart revelation, otherwise it just remains information. Develop a passion for compassion, and watch miracles begin to unfold in your life!
Thought for the day
I know that everyone reading this understands the truth that “Our best thinking got us into a 12 step program”. Unfortunately, too many times we have made the wrong decisions when all the evidence pointed to different (usually harder) solutions. So the question is; what are we going to do different now? How are we going to change the way we process information and make decisions? Let’s remember that; if we want what we’ve never had, we are going to have to do some things we’ve never done!
Let us resolve today to live the day “in the solution”, from the heart, being grounded and really aware of life, looking at our actions and reactions, especially those dealing with issues that are not favorites. Soon we will realize that we have much to learn (that’s OK) about living spiritual lives. Let us start by disengaging our brain (No recovery there!) and engaging our hearts and spirit. Once we become partly familiar with living life spiritually (from the heart and soul) and not emotionally (without analysis of the consequences of our actions), over time we will recognize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves!
And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. ~Matthew 14:14~
So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him. ~Matthew 20:34~
And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. ~Mark 1:41,42~
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. ~Luke 7:13-15~
Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. ~1 Peter 3:8,9~
