I am willing to put myself through anything; temporary pain or discomfort means nothing to me as long as I can see that the experience will take me to a new level. I am interested in the unknown, and the only path to the unknown is through breaking barriers, an often-painful process. ~Diana Nyad~
In order to rise beyond whatever level we may be at today, we must be willing to step out of our comfort zone and be attentive to those things we know little about. It is precisely those that have come to recognize that no temporary setback, no amount of pain or discomfort, can equal the reward that is theirs when they have gone on to realize their true potential.
Thought for the day
Am I willing to pay the price? Let’s stop all our head trash about why we can’t do this or that. Rationalizations got us where we are in the 1st place. The simple truth is that some of us don’t want the work and pain that working the steps towards recovery will bring.
Some of us are just childish, emotional and spiritual weenies!!!! Sadly, those who continue to work their own recovery program “in their heads” will continue to show up at meetings and spread their brand of sobriety, one that is based on doing the program “the easier softer way”. You know who they are? Are you one of them? If not are you brave enough to counter the ungodly message they spout?
I hate the concept of feeling comfortable! Jesus did not come to comfort; he came to bring salvation. Are you seeking comfort or are you willing to do the work and then spread the good news that no one has ever died from trying to become a godly human being?
Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
~Jesus, Luke 18:31-33~
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen… ~Luke 24:2-6~
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. ~Romans 8:16-18~
