A moment’s insight is sometimes worth a life’s experience.
~Oliver Wendell Holmes~
So many painful and unpleasant experiences could be avoided If we would pay attention to the wisdom and knowledge that is available to us and apply ourselves to achieving real understanding,. Take time to listen to and heed that still small voice that provides insight and understanding, leading to proper perspectives, and watch your world change…from the inside out.
Thought for the day
We know this is an I, I, I disease and a We, We, We recovery and yet our pride (lack of humility), our lack of faith and trust and our self sufficiency (ego) often keep us from truly reaching out to others and integrating into the recovery community. Listen to that little voice inside of you and it will for sure lead you to the big voice of recovery with others, where you will hear exactly what you need to hear, not what you want to hear, to get through these challenges of life that simply will not go away because you decide (with no other alternative available) to get sober.
Cry out for insight and understanding. Search for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure. Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. ~Proverbs 2:3-6 (NLT)~
My child, use common sense and sound judgment! Always keep them in mind. They will help you to live a long and beautiful life. You will walk safely and never stumble; you will rest without a worry and sleep soundly. ~Proverbs 3:21-24
But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity). ~James 3:17 (Amp)~
So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives; and he who seeks and keeps on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened. ~Jesus / Luke 11:9,10 (Amp)
