We shall not cease from exploration…And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started…And know the place for the first time.
It seems as though we are always searching for something more…greater understanding, increased knowledge, new insights, etc. The interesting thing is, that when everything is said and done, true wisdom and understanding comes when we are finally able to lay everything down and approach life, others and our Creator with the simple faith, trust, love and hope of a child. Then, are our eyes opened to that which was always before us, yet unseen.
Thought for the day
You’ve heard it said many times; “this is a simple program for complicated people” yet the reality is that most addicts can’t handle that simple truth. It is evident when attending meetings that those in recovery seem to have a childlike faith about “the program” and those struggling keep seeking that “intellectual orgasm” where everything about life and their existence becomes crystal clear. Too bad they are destined for a long miserable life, for the truth is that most of the questions they seek answers for…have no answer! That is the mystery of God, and if we knew the answers then we would be God! Have you stopped seeking intellectual answers and begun to seek the transforming spirit of God?
People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. ~Mark 10:13-16 (NIV)~
At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."
~Luke 10:21-24 (NIV)~
Jesus replied, "The truth is, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven. So don’t be surprised at my statement that you must be born again. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit." ~John 3:5-8 (NLT)~
