The Enemy of Fear…….The Heart of Courage…
The greatest test of courage on the earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.
~R. G. Ingersoll~
In attempting to do anything worthwhile, temporary setbacks and defeats are inevitable along the way. We all should know that growth comes only through trials and overcoming obstacles no matter how small. The true test of our conviction and faith in the vision comes at these times. Viewing these trials merely as opportunities to learn, change and adapt, are critical to ultimate success. The only lasting defeat comes in giving up. Things often look the bleakest, just prior to tremendous breakthrough. Keep on trudging….we really have no other choice! Don’t give up before the miracle happens. We could be the miracle ourselves. Press on…Press through!
Thought for the day
Do I dwell in the negative aspects of my existence (the job, the wife, the in-laws, the meetings, the personalities at the meetings, the program, my car, my children, my past, my future, my friends, my church, the lack of a church, the message, the messenger) or have I realized that I must win this war less I die spiritually. Am I open to learn a new way of life through sponsorship, study, prayer, spiritual direction and CHANGE?
Only you be strong and very courageous, that you may do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
~Joshua 1:7-9 (Amp)~
Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. ~Psalm 27:14 (Amp)~
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
~Jesus / John 16:33 (Amp)~
And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
~Galatians 6:9 (Amp)~
