Standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous; you get knocked down by traffic from both sides. ~Margaret Thatcher~
Stand firm in that which you believe and are called to, and don’t allow any anything to shake your resolve. Compromise, wavering and doubt, can slowly steal the victory away that is there for you. Trust that everything will work for your certain good, if you only continue on the upright path. Uncertainty and indecision can only serve to rob you of all that could be yours.
Thought for the day
A great wise “man” once said; you are either with me or against me”.
There are many “social” issues (they all have spiritual consequences) that society wishes us to ignore or to just go along and accept the current status. Abortion, school prayer, the death penalty, the public display of religious symbols, mandatory sex education for our children attending public schools, euthanasia, the promotion of “safe sex” and the destruction of the nuclear family are just some of the issues we need to address, not according to the world’s standards, but in prayer, meditation and with personal investigation and discernment. Do I do address these in order to become a person of conviction and strength of character or do I just go along for the ride in the bus that is fullest and most popular at the moment?
History teaches us that we will either stand up for something or fall for everything! History also teaches us that the fall of every major empire has been preceded by the moral decay and spiritual collapse of the people.
People pleasing keeps us bound in our weaknesses; let us move forward boldly speaking out for spiritual integrity in all things and assume our position as sons of the One who empowers us in everything…..including our convictions.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life shall be many. I have taught you in the ways of skillful and godly Wisdom [which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God]; I have led you in paths of uprightness. When you walk, your steps shall not be hampered [your path will be clear and open]; and when you run, you shall not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life
~Proverbs 4:10-13 (Amp)~
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
~Hebrews 5:14-16 (NKJV)~
