Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny. ~Tyron Edwards~
Everything that you are…everything that you would be…everything that you would do…begins with a simple thought. Be ever diligent to guard your thought life, for it is the thoughts that we entertain and give place to, that become the intents of our heart, and ultimately shape and mold us into the person we become.
Thought for the day
Am I mindful of what thoughts I allow to entertain? And when I do notice myself fantasizing or being preoccupied about anything, my marriage, sex, work, my child’s grades, shopping, the past or the future am I aware that this is not good for me? Have I learned to stay in the now? Can I accept and pursue purity of heart and mind as a daily goal? If so, how are my sponsor and I working on this?
Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed…Eat not the bread of him who has a hard, grudging, and envious eye, neither desire his dainty foods; For as he thinks in his heart, so is he… ~Proverbs 16:3,23:6,7 (Amp)~
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; ~2 Corinthians 10:4,5~
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
