Man is free at the moment he wishes to be. ~Voltaire~
It is a conscious decision that we must make, to be free of worry, fear, doubt, anxiety and wants in any area. If in asking, you truly believe that you receive it, knowing that it is done…with faith and perseverance, it will become manifest in your life. Now I know this applies to worry, anxiety and fear over issues…I don’t know about cars and mortgage payments!
The next time you find yourself lost in the confines of your mind as you objectify or sexualize a person or try to figure out how to pay the bills, control your children, effect change in the workplace, cure an illness, get your spouse to be more romantic, get your friends to understand you, resolve some legal dispute, etc., etc., etc.; try centering yourself, meditating for a few minutes clearing your mind and relaxing your body and then…bring yourself back to the moment, go into your body, let go of worry and anxieties by giving them up to the one true entity capable of taking all your sins and negativity and replacing them with peace and joy. Of course I speak of Jesus! His yoke is easy and he is willing and able to help each and every one of us simply because…He can!
Thought for the day
In this day of drive-in or drive-through spirituality where everyone is looking for the fast spirituality d’ jour sautéed in comfort, it is no wonder that “The Secret” has been spreading like wildfire. While we should always remain open minded to new ideas…the real concept behind this new ideology is simply this; if you will it, it will happen. In other words, we don’t need to rely on God for our sustenance, what we need is to exercise our willpower and all of our focus on things of self, on the desires of our misguided hearts! Even some totally misguided so called Christians have gotten on this bandwagon. Wow, if anything runs counter to the total surrender and submission to God’s will (Steps 1, 2 and 3) required for recovery it is this type of “secular fix”. Trust me; it does not work as a way of life. And while Satan might be willing to allow you a few so called “triumphs of the flesh” there will never be a victory of spiritual integrity or if you will, a victory that transcends the flesh. As said many, many times before, we addicts receive a daily reprieve from our own self delusional and self destructive ways that is totally contingent upon our true spiritual condition.
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. ~Psalms 37:4~
Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find, keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. ~Jesus, Matthew 7:7-8 (Amp.)~
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
