Worrier or Warrior?

Worrier or Warrior?

Quote
Worry is meditating on something that you do not want to happen.
~Author Unknown~

Meditation
Consider what a destructive force it is to focus our thoughts and attention on things that we, in fact, do NOT want to happen!  Why would we want to give place to them, and thus raise the potential for manifesting them in our lives?  What a silly waste of time and energy that is.

Thought for the day
When negative or worrisome thoughts begin to invade your mind, make the conscious decision to instead focus on the positive and good that are always contained in every situation.  It will begin to change both your perspective and circumstances.  Now regarding the program of recovery, instead of worrying about what not to do, overeat, gamble, drink or drug, act out, etc., be concerned with what to do each and everyday.  Let us fight to become a light in a dark world; fight to become a godly person. Let us fight to be an instrument of positive change in the lives of others.  Be a warrior, not a worrier…a victor, not a victim!

Scriptures
My child, use common sense and sound judgment!  Always keep them in mind.  They will help you to live a long and beautiful life.  You will walk safely and never stumble; you will rest without a worry and sleep soundly. ~Proverbs 3:21-24

He will spread his wings over you and keep you secure.  His faithfulness is like a shield or a city wall.  You won’t need to worry about dangers at night or arrows during the day.  And you won’t fear diseases that strike in the dark or sudden disaster at noon. ~Psalm 91:4-6 (CEV)~

Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything.  With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God.  Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand.  And this peace will control the way you think and feel.  Finally, my friends keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper.  Don’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise.
~Philippians 4:6-8 (CEV)~

About SLAA Tilburg
