The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes. ~Marcel Proust~
Personal growth and change of circumstance become possible only through seeing things differently. Not looking at how they may appear in the moment, but in seeing how they can or will be while looking beyond the surface, to the potential that lies within.
Thought for the day
Until I get to the point where I can see life through a new pair of glasses am I willing to confide in others like my sponsor, my pastor or spiritual director to help me “figure it out” so I can live in hope and faith and not in misery and pain.
Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God. What is born of [from] the flesh is flesh [of the physical is physical]; and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. ~John 3:3,6
Wherefore henceforth know no man after the flesh…if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. ~2 Corinthians 5:16,17~
And the disciples came and said to Him, "why do you speak to them in parables?" Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. For whosoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have abundance; but whosoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear."
~Matthew 13:10-13,16 (NASB)~
