Life does not accommodate, it shatters you. It is meant to, and couldn’t do it better. Every seed destroys its container or else there would be no fruition.
Just as a horse must be "broken" in order to be of any service to the rider…so must we all be broken of our natural self-serving tendencies, in order to grow and become all that we are capable of. The trials and challenges that we experience in life have a way of doing just that. When we allow them to instead plant in us roots of bitterness, resentment, fear, pride, etc., the journey can be a long and painful one. Why not choose this day, instead, to let go of those emotions, and allow the work to be done? Only then, does the ride become an enjoyable one!
Thought for the day
We’ve heard these before;
Q) How long do I have to go to meetings? A) Until you want to go to meetings
Q) When can I stop working the steps A) When they stop working for you!
Q) When will my old self die? A) The moment we surrender, the process of dying to the old self begins and God’s new creation begins to take shape..
There is no easier softer way!
O Lord, open my lips, that my mouth may declare your praise. For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. ~Psalm 51:15-17 (Amp)~
And He was also telling them a parable: "No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and puts it on an old garment; otherwise he will both tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. "And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled out, and the skins will be ruined. ~Jesus / Luke 5:36,37 (NASB)~
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. ~John 3:5-7~
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. ~2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)~
