Nothing is ever lost by courtesy. It is the cheapest of the pleasures, costs nothing and conveys much. It pleases him who gives and him who receives, and thus, like mercy, it is twice blessed. ~Erastus Wiman~
Showing common courtesy to others in all that you do, will return amazing results. The next time you’re in a situation which causes you to feel irritation, and the urge to say something rude and uncomely, STOP! Try being courteous instead, and see for yourself the difference it makes in the situation, and the attitude not only of the person receiving it, but in your own as well.
Thought for the day
Bad habits are hard to break. How am I dealing with difficult situations, am I still being defensive or am I willing to listen and analyze issues before discharging my mouth in response. Restrain of tongue is a wonderful thing!
Finally, all of you should be of one and the same mind [united in spirit], sympathizing [with one another], loving each other as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble). Never return evil for evil, or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God–that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection]. For let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days [good–whether apparent or not] keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from guile (treachery, deceit).
